My hubby has become a real rum enthusiast. I was hoping to take him to the Caribbean Rum Awards but it didn’t work out this year. If we came for a visit, what restaurants would have the best selection? Thanks.

I have had good luck finding some rare rum like La Favorite at La Cases St. Barth. No affiliation.

That is very helpful. Thank you. This will make shopping in Gustavia even more irresistible to my husband. He also enjoys a cigar with his rum after dinner. I know Francois Plantation used to have a lovely bar but maybe not so much anymore.
It still has a lovely, small bar & a “cigar room” (at least, as of the past season).

La Case has great selection of Agricole rum. Get him a tasting or class with Victoria it was fun and well worth it. Just plan on a nap that afternoon... They can ship to states also. Cigars, of course the great girls in St Jean at Casa Del Habano. Bring some home also. On another note... I just got back from Key West, great rum distillery there with a great tour and tasting, Papa's Pilar.

As a guy that enjoys both a cigar and rum, what is your favorite rum? Tell me how you enjoy it, sipping or in a cocktail? If it is a cocktail, what is the cocktail of preference?
The best rum joints the I have found are in Old San Juan, but they specialize in rum from the island! The Casita on the harbor makes a wonderful rum old fashion….
